Oben AC1410 review

One of the things I really hate to drag around is a tripod, I think I speak for many of you. It’s not the using the tripod I use but the hassle to bring it with me, the extra weight etc. So most of the times I will just shoot handheld on a slightly (often much) higher ISO than I should, thinking “Oh my I should have brought my tripod”. So a while ago my search began for a very lightweight tripod that was cheap (I don’t use it a lot), sturdy (I also want to use it with my MF camera), Tall (well I’m not small) and most importantly it had to be small enough to flywith and carry with me everywhere.

Of course one could go for a carbon tripod but let’s be honest when you don’t use your tripod a lot and just use it occasionally it’s a load of money and I will never really can justify that, but all the tripods I own now I will never carry with me, enter the Oben AC-1410 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-0 Ball Head. Which at $119.95 is a steal I think. (remember this is including the ballhead/quickrelease and case)

A small tips video on the lightmeter

Because there are so many questions about the light meter, we shot a small video covering the basics.
And actually everything you need to know I think to start using the meter.

Expressions during the workshop

Today some images from the workshop we did last week with Susanne with a tip.
Susanne has been a model for me for a long time and it’s always fun to work with her. In this workshop I gave a lot of attention to small changes in expression to make an image “speak” to the viewer. Often this is overlooked and in my opinion good shots are missed by that. It’s not one of the easiest things to do however, so it will help when you get your model 100% at ease and shoot a series in “quick” mode letting the model run through different small changes in expressions, you will end up with mostly shots are not 100% what you want but trust me there will be a few that will tilt the WOW factor to the very positive side.
