Worshop Coventry

Join us in Watford (UK) for an intense small-group workshop

Right after the ClickLive Event, we will travel to Watford just outside of London for a full day small group super intense workshop.
The workshop runs from 10:00 Am – 4:00 PM
Including a small lunch, snacks and drinks

What will you learn in this workshop?

This will be a workshop aimed directly at the more creative use of lighting.
We will start with the basic lighting setups and immediately show you how to make them more interesting, adding subtle and not-so-subtle effects.
A basic knowledge of your camera and lighting is essential. Although the material can be in-depth it’s always explained easily so both amateurs and seasoned pros can benefit. Due to the small group size, there is also a lot of time for the 1:1 experience.

During the workshop, we will cover the following topics (and a lot more) :

  • using the lightmeter and color checker for a perfect workflow
  • understanding the light setups instead of just copying
  • from Rembrandt to Butterfly, the best way to set up fast and get killer results
  • creative light use due to understanding instead of copying
  • how to coach the model for awesome poses and expressions
  • how to maximize the area you are shooting in
  • mixing continuous lighting with strobes
  • how to work with less strobes to create more
  • styling and matching the model/background and lighting
  • special effects like using color gels, smoke, and lens flares
  • get awesome lens effects with simple household materials

The workshop starts with a Q&A in which the attendees can ask any question they like, the questions will be answered right away or they will be incorporated into the workshop part of the day.

This hands-on workshop in Watford is not a shooting Zoo

During the day we are not using standard lighting setups. You will see how we build up the lighting and set. But also how to start ok and build it up to the final results, mostly in camera. We also cover retouching during the workshop btw :D. In practice, this means that you will go from just using standard lighting setups to understanding the light behaviors and this way become much more creative, confident, and fast during your own sessions.

All attendees are also able to take images with the setups of course, but this is not a shooting zoo.
You will get plenty of time to shoot, but the main part of the day is education, so expect a boatload of information that you will not get anywhere else.

Frank has taught countless workshops in his studio in Emmeloord and worldwide and is well known for his on-the-spot creativity and deep knowledge of light, color, and workflow.
This will be a unique learning experience that will boost your own sessions further than you would imagine.
Don’t miss it.
