BH why fake it when you can create it tour

Although I hate to see myself recorded live (who doesn’t) I did want to share this with you guys.
As you have read before during our stay in the states for Photoshop World one of my stops was New York (LOVE NY), I was there to teach a seminar at one of my favorite camera stores B&H. They recorded the event and today I can share the link with you on the blog. It’s a 93 minute seminar, meaning they cut out about 30 minutes :-), but to be honest we expected more would be cut out (inside joke).

So without wasting more of your time, here is the video, enjoy.

Video with Polaroid

Last week Sharon and I visited a good friend and fellow photographer Pim van der Maden in his studio, which actually is very close to our studio (walking distance). Pim and I talked a few months ago about a large format Polaroid he still owned but hardly used anymore, I immediately got the idea that it would be cool to show you guys a small video in which Pim would explain how he worked with this camera.

When we started working with the camera the talk however soon became much more than just about the Polaroid, we just kept the camera rolling and decided we would edit it into a small “podcast” “interview on location” “instructional” video. And today you can see the video here on the blog. I hope you enjoy it, and even if you’re not into Polaroids (who isn’t ?) I think there are some very interesting things there that you can use in your own photography.

Many thanks to Emma, Pim and Sharon.

Shooting in the snow

YES we have snow in the Netherlands, well actually we have had snow since this weekend. The funny thing about the Netherlands (well actually not funny) is that immediately the whole country lies flat on it’s back, incredibly long traffic jams, no more trains and I wonder how long it will take this time before the salt runs out. Yes you read it correctly we use salt to make “sure” the roads aren’t slippery. The last few years every time the government claims that they have learned from the last time and that there will be more than enough salt, and every time it’s gone within a week 🙂

But of course we also photograph in the snow and this brings some problems, so today some small tips and a small video containing the tips.

English NIK webinar online

As promised here is the English NIK webinar :

Do remember this is a highly compressed recording (we don’t have anything else), so some examples might not seem to work, like the adding noise to even out the background) but please try them out on your screen and you will see they do work 😀
