Day 2 Professional Imaging 2011

Today it was the second day of the Professional Imaging 2011.
Were in previous years this was a slow day it was now as busy as probably last years busiest day, this year must break all records. The atmosphere is great and the seminars are great, I greatly enjoyed myself today with some hilarious moments 😀

Matt is still rocking the compositing seminar and I can’t wait to start trying some of that stuff myself, as mentioned before it’s not something I did a lot before but hanging around with Matt a few days has changed my mind (a bit) and at least I’m gone play with it some more, would make my work a lot easier in some cases. We did try something more edgy light for the evening session and will repeat that for tomorrows show, I won’t give away too much but it’s a great composite.
Also today I shot all my sessions with the new Leaf Aptus12.
This 80mp digital back is without a doubt stunning and very very detailed, love looking at the files and they come in rather quick on the new MacBook pro, which by the way is wickedly fast, a HUGE step up from the previous version.

As yesterday there were a lot of people visiting my workshops and I’m stunned by the increase of traffic compared to previous years, we are causing major blockages in the area of our booth :D. Today I did find some times to visit our sponsors at Lowepro, Epson, Onone and Nik (you REALLY have to check out their new SilverFX2.0 and HDR, it rocks). The times today were from 10:00-22:00 so I hope you guys don’t mind if I just show the video for today.
I will try to post another blog post tomorrow, with the last video.

Day 1 Professional imaging

First day of the Professional imaging is always very busy, but this year…. Oh my.. they had to open a few minutes earlier because it was too busy outside, I never heard that before, and I know why… Matt Kloskowski openend the day with a wonderful keynote about compositing where he shot a model and within the hour he created a stunning image with a simple backdrop he shot the day before. And don’t think it took him an hour to work on the image, that went lighting fast, in that hour he explained something about compositing, did the shoot and did the editing of both the background as the model, very cool stuff. If you did not plan on visiting the Professional Imaging, make sure you do, this keynote alone is worth it (well and my demos also of course), I immensely enjoyed it.

After that it was time for my first workshop at the Elinchrom booth.

Pre show day Professional imaging 2011

Today it was time to build the booth and to check some final things for the show which will start tomorrow.
We met up with Matt which was loads of fun and he will have an AWESOME keynote, really you don’t want to miss this.
We did a small backstage video from the booth which you can see in this blog post.
By the way our hotel is great but the shower is a bit weird/kinky…… Yeah you can see right into the shower from the bed 😀 but hey you don’t hear me complain just glad I’m not here with a group of strangers if you know what I mean.

I will try to upload a small video every day after the shows so keep checking.

A lot of people ask me about those little things that really are necessary to own.
If you look at the gear guide on this page you can already see some of the items I will mention in this thread. But I think it’s interesting to also do a small blog post about some of the items that will save your session, or add some amazing creative options…..
