Alternative videoclip

Today a special video.
Recently we shot a videoclip for a Rap Dutch artist.
I only started doing videoclips recently and this is my second attempt at something that can be called a videoclip (lots to learn I know :D).It’s the alternative edit.
The original videoclip will be released in a few weeks and is edited by another editor. However because I want to practice I decided to do an alternative “Frank” edit for this clip how I see it. Probably not “good enough” for the target audience 😀 All filming (for both clips) is done by me with the 5DMKII and in the official there will also be some GoPro footage  which I did not include in my edit.

Some new images

Today a collection of some of my favorite shots from the workshops I did last week with Marie and Nirmala.
The shots with Marie are done during the small flash workshop so were all shot with the small flash strobes.
The top one with the awesome Rogue grid set by the way, make sure to get one, you will love it.

Some random shots from Lisanne

Sometimes we try something new in the studio.
Most of the times this is the start of something that I will try to work out in the future, in this case I wanted to create some “impossible” light setups. For this setup I shot the scene first without the model and later added the model(s) and the lights and blended those together to the end result. For this setup I used really flat lights, in the future this will be changed to more contrast lights.

During the day we also did some video to test out the new Sapphire Edge plugins for Final Cut Pro X for which I’m part of their beta program. The plugins are great and open up a lot of creativity. So during the day I also went outside with Lisanne to do some natural light shots and did some video to test out Final Cut Pro X before starting to use it on an assignment later this month (a new videoclip).

Some random shots

Last weekend me and my wife travelled to Belgium to visit some clients.
Because the weather was terrible and the time schedule really hectic and tight I did not have time to go out and visit some interesting sites to shoot, but as most of you will recognize I just can’t go without taking some shots, and with the help of our friends at NIK 🙂 I think I managed to get some interesting shots which I will share with you today.
