Castle workshop Alden Biesen with Nadine

Today on the blog some of the resuts from the castle workshop in Alden Biesen with Nadine.
We shot most with the Elinchrom Ranger RX speed and the Maxilight due to the sun.
By using this combination you have a tremendous amout of power (1100Ws) and thanks to the maxilight it isn’t necessary to use this on full power so you get a lot of “pops” out of your battery. Of course you can also shoot this with HS (hi-sync) and use a higher shutterspeed to “kill” ambient light but during a workshop I mostly try to keep the techniques close to what most people own or can afford and in all honesty most people will work without hi-sync systems at the moment.

We also did one set with the Californian Sunbounce, it’s always stunning to see how much light that reflector bounces into the scene… and it’s nice and warm for the model 😀

MUST READ when updating to Windows Creators update and 4K monitors

Just a very quick but vital tip.
If you update windows to the new Creators update and you own a 4K (HDR capable monitor) you have to be aware of the fact that Windows will recognize this monitor as HDR capabile and will set this up as a HDR monitor.

This means your monitor will look VERY washed out and colorless, this is of course logical due to the other gamma curve and colorspace connected to HDR/UHD. The option can be found in the display properties, just flick the switch from HDR/Advanced color to off and all should work as before.
