My blog, although I don’t see myself as a blogger but as a Photographer I will try to blog some interesting material during the weeks.
Expect at least 2 updates a week.

A toy camera….

A week or so ago I got a Diana F+ camera via the mail.
This is a so called Lomo or Toy camera that shoots 120 film, and because I’m a medium format shooter I have my fridge full of that stuff, so I decided to load a roll and test the camera, in this blog post the first weird, wicked and downward strange results. I’m not sure if I like them to be honest.  Something went wrong with the film, but that’s fixed now. In a time were we try to emulate vintage looks it’s always fun to shoot with a camera that gives you that look out of the box, but again….. I don’t yet know if I like it, have to test some more I guess…. ok it’s addictive.

The Scott Kelby seminar in Amsterdam

Somethings you simply can’t miss….
August 12th it was time for Scott Kelby’s “Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it LIVE!!!” seminar in Amsterdam, and trust me this is something you don’t want to miss, so whenever their tour hits your town (or if it’s in travel range) make sure to visit, the pricing is insane for this kind of seminar and the best investment you can make in your photography I think.

About the light meter in a quick overview

On August 12th I joined Scott Kelby during his great “Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it” tour.
If you didn’t already see it, and it’s close to you, make sure you check it out… You’ll love it.
Anyway, during my piece of the seminar I choose to do the high contrast light setup using a deep octa and strip light, during the setup I of course also talked about the use of a light meter and explained some of the theory behind it, however after the seminar I got so many questions from people who never used a meter to people who had problems using one that I decided to dedicate a blog post to it, because really honest… using a meter is like the simplest thing you can do within photography.

Google+

You know, the first thing I thought was “Why a new social network”.
I’m already on Facebook, twitter, hyves etc.   and there we have another one.
However as you could have read before I LOVE Google +, especially for Photographers/Videographers it’s I think the best network. The way it shows images, video etc. it’s just awesome, add the great mobile app and you can see why Google + is great.

Like with Twitter I can “G+” images and stories while on location, and to be honest my network exploded, I have more people following me on G+ in a few days than I had on Twitter in more than a year, and it’s still growing, for me I will keep updating Facebook and twitter via linked messages but to be honest I’ll be focussing on G+ more and more. So if you need an invite just let me know, you can find me on https://frankdoorhof.com/+

You might ask, “Why this blogpost, you already mentioned this a while ago”, well yes but yesterday someone send me this link and as a huge Queen fan I just HAD to share this one, and it almost exactly mirrors my feelings about Google +
