My blog, although I don’t see myself as a blogger but as a Photographer I will try to blog some interesting material during the weeks.
Expect at least 2 updates a week.

Images New York day 1

Today we did the seminar at the B&H event space, it was awesome with a great group of attendees, the video of this will be online in about a week, so watch out for that one.

During the day I had little time to do some street photography but I did manage to get some images I wanted to share, I hope you like them.

Abandoned amusement park in Denmark

I love to visit abandoned places however in the Netherlands we don’t have a lot of interesting places, but when I travel I’m always on the outlook for these places.
During our trip in Denmark I found a location online that looked incredibly interesting, it was about a 90 minutes detour so we decided to add it to our route.

Today some images from the abandoned water fun park.
One nice anecdote from the shoot:
We actually parked in front of the entrance sign and climbed over a small barricade to walk up to the entrance, after passing this we were in the park and visited some locations to shoot, while looking for more we saw some cool waterslides and decided to go there for some more larger pieces in the shot, arriving on the location there was a full blown photo club meeting in process with a fun theme, shooting plus size models (nude), we just entered the site anyway and started shooting (not the models out of respect of course), but I have to be honest…. it was a bit of a weird experience.

Without wasting more of your time, here are the shots I took.

Adding the sun

Modelphotography on location is always a nice thing to do, you can play not only with styling and posing but also with the available light, and this can give you some amazing shots. One of the things I love to do is find the sun in the frame, adding a little bit of strobe on the model to boost the contrast and let the model stand out and you have a formula for a shot that a lot of people like.

It does help to use a modifier like the Elinchrom maxi light that will give you some extra light output, because winning from the sun…. well that’s rather difficult.
Let me first share a version without the sun.

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse in Jutland Denmark Part II

Yesterday I shared the day shots of the lighthouse, in this second part you can see the evening shots I took.
I have to be honest that I wished we could have stayed a few more days because I don’t really thing this sunset is the best that you could get over there.
