Norway Day 2

Today some images from Day 2 in our Norway trip.
Please remember that during these trips I upload the images just for “fun” to share with you guys. So these are just my holiday snaps 🙂

Tip : use the background

Sometimes you end up with backgrounds that at first look terrible but eventually really make your images stand out.

This shot was taken at the Sony booth during my demos at the imaging days. We did bring our own lastolite backgrounds but somehow this reflective black background just kept calling out to me 😉

I placed a small softbox with a wide grid under a high angle and used it to literally paint some cool patterns on the background. But by placing our model (Nadine) close to the background and feathering the light I also has more than enough light on my model.

The end results I really loved .

So as you can see….. Sometimes bad looking situations can give you awesome results.

Tip: find those lines

We all know lines are important right ?
That’s why they are called leading lines 😉

Now some might think this only goes for landscape and architecture but that’s not true. Find the lines in your models pose, backdrops etc and it will really spice a shot up.

Like for example this pose where the model (Claudia) lifts up one leg to create some nice triangles

So the next time you shoot….. Find lines and angles 😉
