Alternative lightsources

Often when we work in the studio we tend to use strobes, now because strobes (or continuous lighting) is so embedded in our mind when we think about studio lighting we often tend to forget that there is way way more.

Always remember the golden rule:
Aperture controls the strobe
Shutterspeed controls the ambient light (constant light).

With this golden rule it becomes incredibly easy to incorporate/understand mixing different light sources, and this can be very cool. We often hunt for old chandeliers or other continuous light sources which give a different look to the shot, and are (of course) good study material during the workshops 😀

Today some examples of mixing light sources.
Did you take some cool shots with mixed sources…? Post them below.

Finally wireless tethering for sony BTCD March 16 2017

In todays episode we take a quick look at a device I’ve been waiting for for years, a wireless tethering solution for Sony.

There were many solutions for other brands, but next to internal app none for Sony, does this device (the cam-fi) change all this? or does it still need work.

We also announce a new open house date.

See it all in todays episode of Behind the closed DOORs.
When I’ve worked with it longer a proper review will follow.
