A few years ago during a workshop I taught in Los Angeles I met up with Dwight and his family and we immediately became friends, during one of our travels we stayed at Dwights house several days in which he showed us the area and because we had 2 days off this time we wanted to meet up again, and of course drive the incredibly beautiful Pacific Coast Highway that leads up to that area. Today some of the images from that road trip.
Teaching at PhotoShopWorld is a huge honor and something that I always try to do with a fresh approach, meaning I will repeat my program only twice (east and west coast) and come up with something new for the next PSW. This time I taught classes on Photoshop/Lightroom retouching, styling, streetphotography and one class with a small live shoot with smoke….. or as people now know using a Fogmachine 🙂 (only funny if you know the inside joke).

The first day of PSW is always Pre-Con day.
Last time I decided to join Moose Peterson to shoot some amazing planes, but when I heard Joe McNally would be shooting some Cirque du Soleil artists… well I did not have to wonder which Pre-Con to join of course.

Joe let the students shoot with a mix of small flash, big flash and constant light. I did not do a lot of shooting (I was there not as an attendee) but I did manage to get some interesting shots, and let’s be real…. these are of course all amazing artists.
During PSW I taught several demos on the Expo-floor for Expoimaging, the creators of the flashbender products. All shots were done with the Sony flash system, Phottix Odin and of course the flashbenders.
Do remember that these demos are not the place to shoot great portfolio material, but I did want to share these images to show you some of the shots I make during these demos.
