New York
New York, somehow this city has a weird attraction on me. I strongly believe that I could spend months over there and just only do street photography and never would be bored. We visited New York a few years ago for a workshop and we spend over a week there and to be honest it yielded the most images I ever shot during a stay somewhere. So when I heard I would be teaching a seminar at B&H in New York I was very excited to also do some street photography there, the only problem for me was that I would only be in New York for one day, but I decided to make the best of it.
In this blogpost some of my favorite shots from that day.

We are already thinking about doing it sometime next year, but this time just as a holiday.
The last 10 years we have actually never travelled just for holiday, it’s always combined with work. And if we have to choose it’s New York, a photographers dream.

Come here and travel the subway during Halloween, 3rd week in June for the Mermaid Parade and of course the Month of December.
Hi Frank, and if you are able to go back to NY stay a week if you can and indead take the subway, do a lot of walking/ looking and you will really enjoy it. We also went to Harlem, wow what an amazing World. Especially the visit on sunday mornng to one of those churches. We never had danced in a church before but did with all the multi culti people around.
We did it for 2 years ago and because of your blog we just decided to do it again 🙂

We did the hop on hop off tour a year or two ago and that was awesome. We stayed for almost 10 days that time (on the last day the bomb on time square was discovered, we almost didn’t get there due to the ash cloud)
If we are going again I will be focussing much more on people indeed.

Make sure to buy a full day metro ticket, just riding the metro for a few hours gives you AMAZING options. We did this too late, next time we will probably just spend half a day in the Metro.

We were only there for like 2 days, one night and teaching at B&H the next. Previous visit was 10 days and it was too short…. want to go back some day.
