this weekend no blog…. sorry but good reason :-)

You are used that I almost every day update my blog with a new item, some technique etc.
But this weekend there will be no new updates……
The reason is simple, today I’m turning 40, and as some say live starts at 40 I’m more in the opinion that my 30’s end when I hit 40 so to make a long story short I’ve planned to have my whole midlife crisis in one day (and that’s today), I will just sit down watch a few movies, read some magazines, get some creative ideas and just relax.

On Saturday I will teach the small flash workshop (which is always great for a blog post), and that night we will celebrate my birthday so no time to write than. But when those images are done I will of course pick up the regular schedule again. In the mean time, when you have something you want me to blog about this is the time to post it here and who knows, maybe I will blog about your idea/question.

Have fun this weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing some ideas down here.

I remember my 40th birthday about 6 years ago… it’s ok to be 40+ but I am sick and tired of hearing “You’re same age my mom” or “dad” when I start talking to younger people! other than that I still feel like 25, and “start” learning everyday like I am a newbie 🙂 Well, happy birthday sir, and enjoy :)nLeo (from dpchallenge.com)

      Thanks man.
I think it’s indeed mainly because we work with younger people that make us keep feeling like we’re 25 😉 and I love it. But I do have to admit that the 40 is a bit of a brrrrr moment 😉

One of my good friends just hit the 40 mark and I would like to show you a picture of him hugging the sink in a bar in Denver but probably not completely appropriate, I also have to say that it was the younger girls that night that put him in that situation and made him feel like 25 for at least 2 hours, 😉 Good Stuff!!!nRyannhttp://sandrabullockmoviesexposed.com

Frank, nnAt 40 you are still a young man, age hasnu2019t caught up with you yet. You are probably more active now and in better shape than you were at 30. Plus at 40 you know what you like and have the energy to enjoy it. Naturally hanging around with young people keeps you young, so too does photographing beautiful young ladies. You have a good lifeu2026nnFrank have a great day and enjoy some quality time with your family. Happy Birthday big guy. nnGary

Frank, Happy Birthday and enjoy your day with your family. You are still a puppy! 40 is young! LOLnI have a blog idea, although it might be a small one. Since I am just getting started in glamour/fashion shooting, I have no idea where to find models, MUA. I did a shoot with my friend the other day who happens to be beautiful, but my portfolio has to include more than her. I don’t know where to turn. Maybe you can speak on how to find models if we are just getting started in this venue of photography.nnThanks and again, Happy Birthday!

Hi Frank, Happy Birthday.nI really enjoy all your videos, here and at Kelby training. I have learned lots through your setups, but working with non- models and budget lights can be hard at times. I know you mention the Octa and other modifiers in all your posts, also seen you use the quadra lights. What lights do you use in your studio and on location?nnCheers,nManuelnnPS, remember age is just a number, yours is now F4.0 – also it can be a young 20/20

I use a lot of different modifiers. nBut I use the deep octal, the strip lights and the the 1.90 octa the most. nHowever outside and on location I use the open reflectors a lot or with small flash, just the bare strobe, when aimed correct they can do great.

Happy birthday, sorry I was a bit late. Had a photo shoot saturday, the one one with slide film.nnI never did figure out what ended at 39 and began at 40, and the same thing when 49 turned 50.nAll I can say is thanks for all your help and suggestions and comments and photo critic etc. You make photography fun for us and we learn so much from your blogs and other places. Not sure if I would be at the same level if I had never met (online not in person) you , maybe however you made I easier. nnThank you again, may your birthday bring lots of presents and messages and tweets from all your followers and friends.
