Glamour with a twist (NSFW)

Today Tamlyn was our model for the Glamour workshop.
The glamour workshops are most of the time the workshop were we have room to experiment with different methods of lighting, but also with concepts and of course accessories. For today I decided to use some materials with reflective and translucent qualities. By using these low cost materials I was hoping to trigger the students to think about lighting in a totally different way.

The most heard “complaint” I hear from students is that they are stuck with the same lightsetups, the same kind of models and are simply put not going forward. With the workshops I can of course teach people how to understand the theory behind light, and show things like measuring etc. But sometimes the students need something more, or as you could say a different view on light and shooting. As mentioned glamour is the perfect workshop for this, so let’s see what we’ve done today.

Critique day results

On Monday I asked people on twitter if they wanted to tweet an image for critique by DM.
The responses were more than expected so I guess we’ll do that again.
When I saw some of the images I thought I could not just let them be part of twitter alone and disappear after that, so I decided to ask a few photographers to send their image to me with a small description to be featured on my blog.
This is that post.
Feel free to comment, share or ask questions, the photographers will be online also and if they want they can answer your questions.

Hardware review Epson 1775W

Normally I try to keep to photographic gear, but this is one piece of hardware I really have to review on the blog.
We all do need a projector sometimes, being it for a seminar, workshop or just showing people your work.
If you go to a location were there already is a projector a lot of photographers decide to just use that projector, but trust me in most cases this is not the smart thing to do. In most locations the projectors are very bad, sometimes you can solve this if the owner is willing to hand you the remote, in this review I will give you some tips and also do a small review on a special projector I think you really should have/use.
