Angela in Vintage

A while ago I got an Email from Angela asking me if I would like to work with her.
You have to realize that I get loads of those mails and it’s a reality that most of the “models” are not fitting for my own portfolio, but as every photographer als I have to work very hard to keep my portfolio updated and interesting, and the best way to do that is to work without restrictions and with a top team. So I mailed Angela that if she would deliver a well thought out concept and nice clothing we could always work something out……

And she did, so yesterday it was time for the session.
Sometimes we stream sessions live over the internet via our StudioFD live page (you can find that on this site), and this session was perfect for that, so if you watched the stream, these are the final results.

Our team also shot a backstage video which I hope will be edited next week and uploaded as soon as we have it done, so you have something to watch our for from this session 🙂

The team for this session :

Photographer : Frank Doorhof
Model : Angela Bloemsaat
Frank’s Assistants : Maryonne Vlasblom, Wendy Appelman
MUA : Linda Rutgers
Hairstyling : Chantal van Veenhuizen
Assistant hairstyling : Rachel
Styling : Lilian van den Heuvel
Clothing : TopVintage

As you can see in a moment several setups were shot that day, all in my opinion very nicely styled by Lilian who had a suggestion for every outfit and prop. I can’t really express how important a good stylist can be for a photoshoot. It’s a shame there aren’t that many available but often for these kind of sessions they are willing to work on their own portfolio so if you get the change to add a stylist to your sessions make sure you do.

For the first setup I used the 1.90mtr Octa behind me, two strips and a strobe on the background to get this look.

For this setup we moved the 1.90 Octo above the model and I had to climb a ladder to get the view I wanted, and trust me I HATE heights, yes even a studio ladder.

I always also try to shoot something for our MUA, and this is just a simple portrait, shot with the Deep octa with Lighttools grid and a small strip as fill.

Also here we used the 1.90 Octa with the front diffuser removed, placed slightly from the side and on a distance of app 2 mtrs.

For the final setup the only lightsource used was a medium strip with the lighttools grid.

Feel free to share and comment.

Thanks for the livefeed, too bad I missed the shoot itself because I had to leave. Better luck next time 🙂

    The results are great!
