Shooting in a zoo…

This Sunday we finally had some time to spend some time as a family and go somewhere, our son wanted to visit Artis (Amsterdam Zoo) so the decision was made very quickly. While walking through the Zoo I of course took some images, and to be honest it was never my intention to share them online in the blog, however I met some people struggling with taking images from the animals and of course I helped when possible and thought that it would be nice to maybe dedicate some space on the blog to the tips I find useful when shooting in the Zoo (or somewhere similar of course) and I think it will also nicely fit in line with the blog posts about composition and creativity.

Some random shots

Last weekend me and my wife travelled to Belgium to visit some clients.
Because the weather was terrible and the time schedule really hectic and tight I did not have time to go out and visit some interesting sites to shoot, but as most of you will recognize I just can’t go without taking some shots, and with the help of our friends at NIK 🙂 I think I managed to get some interesting shots which I will share with you today.

Using a light source in many ways, the Elinchrom 1.90 octa.

Some light sources can be used in many different ways, I’m an Elinchrom shooter and the two light sources I love most are the Deep Octa and the 1.90 Octa. With the Deep Octa it’s very clear you can use it in many different ways due to the way it has been build/designed by Elinchrom. You can remove the front material, the center diffuser, use deflectors etc. etc. however with the 1.90 octa there is often some more confusion and a lot of people think it can only be used to mimic window light, they are wrong….
