NIK competition

As many of you know NIK software is without a doubt one of the best plugins out there, many pros rely on it for their daily work, and I’m one of them. From the NIK plugins I mostly love Color Efex Pro and NIK recently released a new version of this amazing collection of plugins. In the months December and January I will be doing 3 webinars for NIK and we thought it would be a cool idea to start a competition with a digital version of NIK color Efex Pro 4, the brand new version of Color Efex Pro.

So what do you have to do?
We will start the competition today and you are allowed to send in a maximum of 3 images in the category “PEOPLE”, this can be anything from fashion, glamour (no 18+ please), portraits, street etc. the images can be digitally enhanced, straight out of the cam, black and white, color etc. but they have to be different to win, every week we will feature 2 of the best images from that week that will be shown on the blog.

You can send in images once, every week, spread them out over the period it doesn’t matter. However I do advise you to not wait till the last week, by highlighting 2 images every week you can see the quality and judge for yourself were you would rank. You can send in the images to [email protected]. Once every while I will also select one person that is invited to write a guestblog on my blog about his/her work. Via https://frankdoorhof.com/+ you can see an album specially for the NIK competition. Direct link to the album here.

The winner will be announced during the third webinar I will do for NIK in January, and will get a free electronic version of Color Efex Pro 4
GOOD LUCK !

Please mail the images to me in 800 pixels longest side.

NIK free webinars December NL and EN

As you might already know I LOVE NIK filters, it’s part of my everyday workflow. I strongly believe that you should not spend a lot of time in Photoshop and that you should get the shot as perfect as possible at the moment you press the shutter. However it’s foolish to not use Photoshop in post, there are so many new possibilities in Photoshop and it get’s better with every release, that it can really enhance an image without taking away the “realness” of the original shot.

Using filters is a great way to create looks within seconds and with the new release of the NIK suite you can also stack filters making unique looks that can be used with one press of a button. Because I use NIK in my everyday workflow NIK and I thought it would be great to do a webinar in which I show you how to work on several images ranging from fashion shots to street/travel photography and how I use the NIK filters to give the images something “different”.

During the 60 minute webinar you can see me working live on several images and I will also explain what’s going on and in between answer questions (if possible). The first webinar will be in Dutch on December 8th at 18:00 CET. There will also be an English one on December 14th 20:00. Make sure to subscribe as soon as possible because the fill up rather quickly.

Sarina Kay releases Dutch song for Help Portret NL

As you might know I’ve been very active in organizing the Dutch version of http://www.help-portrait.com called http://www.help-portret.nl.

A while ago I shot Dutch singer Sarina Kay and told her about that we needed a good song to promote help portret a bit more in the media, well yesterday saw the release of “Met heel je hart” a song that Sarina has rerecorded for help portret in the Netherlands, as you can imagine I’m incredibly happy with this and would love to ask you the readers to spread this song with the connection to help portret as much as you can.

you can find the song here :
