My blog, although I don’t see myself as a blogger but as a Photographer I will try to blog some interesting material during the weeks.
Expect at least 2 updates a week.

Video clip Yvon : Friends

A while ago I decided it was time to add motion to our portfolio.
Some of you might know that I already filmed for a long time, but never serious, always only during trips, holidays, special occasions etc. When I started doing photography more serious somehow video moved to the back, but I still loved doing motion. In todays world I think to survive as a photographer you will have to add motion to your portfolio, in 10 years time the market will be changed a LOT and motion will probably be a normal part of everyday work in a “photo” studio, moving covers, moving images in a fashion spread on the iPad10 (or android or whatever) will be just as normal as we now see steady images.

I could of course stop there but somehow I always want more, so I decided to do 5 videoclips for my own portfolio, so that means “FOR FREE”, some artists responded and I do have to add I’m picky for what I choose. I wanted a pop song, a rap song, a pop ballad and a Rock or Metal song so doing almost every genre I love. Today you see clip 3 in my adventure into video editing and filming.

Photoshoot Yves

Although most of what I shoot is of the female gender I do love to work with male models, and when I get the chance to shoot a model and theme that really fits my needs for my portfolio I of course jump to the occasion.

When Scott Kelby asked me if I knew some good models for his Amsterdam Seminar in the “Light it, shoot it, retouch it” tour I decided to search for a male model, because to be honest good female models I have plenty but good male models is a lot more difficult, from the responses I got Yves was without a doubt my first choice, part of the deal was that he would also got a shoot with me in our studio and you can imagine that I loved doing that. As a theme we decided to make a mix between boxing and fashion. In this blog post the result from that photoshoot.

Video from our new wall

We always try to do some new things in our studio from time to time.
I do love seamless paper and canvas, but in my opinion nothing beats a real scene, so we did a new scene including our staircase and a nice big corner to play more with a bigger scene. Here you can see the video we shot during the two evenings the painters worked on the wall, we sped up the video a lot to make it an easier viewing experience 🙂

Now we have to find some new props to add to the scene.

What is going on….. ?

Yesterday I was really stumped by what internet seems to do to people, and decided to dedicate a blog post to it and hopefully give my opinion instead of posting it in all the threads going on online on several social sites and websites alike.

For me yesterday had some great news, the magazine “light it” was released, this is an awesome magazine designed for the iPad and released by the Kelby media group, you probably know the guys, they are in my opinion always on the cutting edge of what they do and more than often bring us stuff that is ground breaking and setting the standard for the future. And ok I have to add that I’m a bit biased because I’m one of the instructors for the Kelby media group and I consider a lot of them as personal friends, that’s also why I decided to not post in the threads online but keep it focused for myself in my own blog, but feel free to share this link to others and respond on it on my blog or via the social media I share it on.

So what’s going on that really surprised me (or actually maybe it did not)……
