My blog, although I don’t see myself as a blogger but as a Photographer I will try to blog some interesting material during the weeks.
Expect at least 2 updates a week.

Shot on location

Today some images we shot during a 1:1 workshop on location.
Believe it or not but the shots were all done inside a normal house, so it was very tight to move around, but let’s be honest with these kind of sets…. who would complain 🙂

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact review Pt2

Today part 2 in my series of looking at the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact phone.
And this time it’s a small update and tip that will probably work for more phones.

As always with something new it’s a matter of liking somethings, getting used to some others and really loving some others, and I already found something cool that I’ll be using a lot.
As you know I love shooting tethered, it gives you a direct feedback, but it’s also very handy for the attendees during a workshop/demo to see what I’m doing. Tethering my sony a7r via play memories is handy and works on ipad and iPhone. Play memories is the software you can get for free from Sony that is creating a connection between your phone and supported cameras like the Nex and A7 series, it shows the live view and images coming in, but you can of course also remote control your camera.
Setting up is pretty easy and straight forward just connect to the camera via wifi in the setup of your mobile device, start playmemories and go, but it can always be easier.

May 3rd Workshops in New York

May 3rd I will be teaching a full day workshop in New York in a stunning location with both inside and outside sets, including a roof overlooking New York.
During these workshops we work with smaller groups so there is a lot of time for personal attention and the attendees can ask whatever they want.

Some of the topics we always cover are:
metering ambiant and strobes and a mix, finding the story, coaching the model, working with special effects like smoke and colored strobes, finding the perfect pose and expression, adding motion to the shot, creating the mood with light and angles, making something cool out of something that might look just ok, color managed workflow… and much much more.

In short, these workshops are an awesome learning tool where you will learn techniques that are not learned in other workshops, add the fact that the workshop is 100% flexible to fit your questions and needs and you know why I always love teaching these 😀

For New York we only have a few more seats left, so don’t wait too long with your booking, it’s gonna be a day you don’t want to miss.
Booking can be done via this page.
