Bohemian Rhapsody

I normally would never post a movie review. But in this case I make an exception. Let me make one thing clear. I’m a HUGE queen fan. I own a copy red Special guitar and our son is named Brian. So going to this movie was not just seeing a movie about a band I like. Queen is a huge part of my life.

Let me just start right away.
Bohemian Rhapsody was absolutely awesome.

They do take a pretty royal (pun intended) swing with facts and time lines but most are ok and not really something to complain about. It’s not a bio but a movie of course.

The only thing that frustrated the heck out of me was the fact that according to the movie Freddie and queen broke up for years and only got to together for live Aid in essence. Which is an absolute untruth. Live Aid was 8 weeks after the end of a tour. So they didn’t had to rehearse to get back together after years…

Also the fact that Freddie had aids was confirmed in 1987 and not 1985.

I somewhere read someone claiming they had immense respect for Mercury because with a failing body he did an amazing performance. This is the part that I absolutely don’t understand from a movie where Brian and Roger gave their ok for.

Freddie just came of a tour with queen and Wembley showed him at a peak in my opinion. Far from a dying singer of a broken up band.

Let me be clear
Facts need to be taken with a grain of salt. Freddie proposed on christmas with several packages going from large to small ending with the ring. But hey…. The scene in the movie was awesome. Same with the manager scene. But it was all in good fun and drama. So overall I’m over the moon with the movie.

Just the aids part and queen breaking up really annoyed the heck out of me.

HIGHLY recommended
Probably one of the best movies in years and Oscar material for “freddie”

By the way all members were cast amazingly. John was spot on, Brian was amazing, Freddie in certain scenes almost looks scary close to the real one. Only Roger was less impressive as a look a like but man…. It was so close it gave me goosebumps. Also so cool to see that they included the les Paul Brian indeed played for a little while during a tour.

(He was dissapointed with the strat and later les Paul and decided to take the red Special on tour. He actually had an exact copy made but ended up playing most of all gigs with the “old lady”)

Again…. LOVED it.
If you didn’t see it yet…. Go go go.
It’s a kind of magic.
