First workshop compositing

A while ago I got some questions about compositing.
At first I thought that this would not be something for me to teach, you know my motto “why fake it when you can create it”, however soon I realized that in some instances compositing would be the only option, and the more I experimented with it the more I fell in love with it, I do have to add that I did not do a lot of compositing yet for commercial work and things I post online but the options seem to be limitless and I’ve already got some nice ideas.

During Photoshop World I made sure to watch Joel Grimes doing his compositing work and of course chatted a lot with Matt Kloskowski during his visit to Professional Imaging last year (his books rocks by the way on the subject and I highly recommend you to buy that one). So the idea grew in my head to do something with this during a workshop, and a few weeks ago due to a weird combination of circumstances I got my change, original planned as a workshop Advanced II that workshop grew out to a compositing workshop and the students loved it. So we changed the title of workshop advanced II to Advanced II compositing and the theme for that workshop is now working with compositing.

Images from around the world

Now this is a guestblog (and hopefully more) I was really looking forward to.
During the NIK competition (which will run till the end of the year by the way) I got some images that really struck something with me, I asked the photographer(s) about them and got an amazing story about them traveling around the world, and I can just imagine what that would be like, and I thought “that would be a great guestblog, and maybe even some repeated ones”, so without wasting to much of your time, here is the guest blog from C and I as they call themselves 😀

First of all we would like to thank Frank and his team for the opportunity to be here on his blog as guest writers. It’s a true pleasure as Frank is one of the leading teachers out there and since a while he went up to the roof-top-gang around Scott Kelby. Beyond awesome! And here we have first met Frank, sitting next to him at Photoshop World Orlando this year. Ever since we are following his amazing work.

Images from Frederiken

Today some new images from a session we did with Frederiken last week.
You could call this a session that was 5 year in the making, because it was 5 years ago that Frederiken decided she wanted to be shot by me, this time we did a very simple shoot, but we have something more planned for the future.
