Guestblog Maxime Cardol

In our series of guestbloggers that were selected during my Twitter Critique day it’s time for Maxime today.
Her image I loved (as a fashion photographer) because it was totally different from what I saw that day. When I visited her site I also loved what I see, so here she is. Ladies and Gentleman the blog is for Maxime today.
Be sure to visit her on her site http://maximecardol.nl

My first experience with fashion photography. I think that’s what the picture is for me.

It was a wonderful shoot. Imagine two donkeys in the huge backyard, green grass and the most romantic dresses you’ve ever seen. This pose was definitively the hardest. Although the model has a great portfolio, she’d never posed this way before. She held the tree, another one grabbed the stairs beneath her and I shot like ten pics before she fell off the tree. We did that three times and I had the picture. See the full serie here.

From that moment I loved fashion, photography and the combination of those. I’ve had some shoots in studio and a couple outside. I prefer going outside, search for beautiful spots and work with the possibilities nature gives. Although I prefer nature, I would love to learn more about working in the studio. I just have no space to practice..

I bought my first SLR Canon 450D two years ago. Still working with that little thing 🙂 Preparing for a career as a photojournalist, but as you can read in my text above I would love to work as a fashion photographer. If you click on this link you see a small serie I’m working on. It’s about Pink Ribbon, in a creative way (if I may say). People on the street wearing something pink, supporting Pink Ribbon.

Right now I’m an intern at “Parool” (daily newspaper based in Amsterdam). Just working at the office. Have to wait till september this year to follow an internship as a photojournalist. Visit my site http://www.maximecardol.nl to see my whole portfolio. Including portrait, fashion, journalism and weddings.
