Some random news parts….

We just finished a workshop with Susanne, hopefully I will post some images from that one this weekend, it was the first workshop were we worked with the Canon strobes outside in combination with the Elinchrom Quadra. Normally I don’t use the blog for news fact but that will change from now on. So here we go :

For people with a Kelbytraining subscription there are now in total 4 videos online, if you don’t have a subscription also surf to www.kelbytraining.com because you see the first segment of all videos for free……. I’m sure you will be hooked after that however. It’s the best place to learn from some of the best teachers in the world.
You can now find the videos : Fashion on location, Freezing action, Why fake it when you can create it (studio) and Photoshop with an interview I had with Larry (which is free to watch. In total we shot 5 videos so there is one more to come… 😀

On Wednesday it was finally the time to visit “We Will Rock You” the musical.
I have been wanting to visit the musical ever since it was released many years ago, I’m a huge Queen fan and this was without a doubt a very enjoyable evening. Somehow we never found the time to visit the musical when it ran in England (although it was planned many times). Now that it is playing in Utrecht I did not want to miss out so we booked tickets for last Wednesday.

For people not knowing the musical, it’s a musical that was made by Queen themselves (remaining members Brian and Roger) and Ben Elton, it’s full of music from Queen of course and the story is more than interesting about a future where music is forbidden and a group of rebels are trying to find the hidden instruments from Queen to ROCK !!!

We have seen some musical but we are in no way musical people but man this was intense.
The dynamics of the performers and the music from the band were simply breathtaking, several times I felt goosebumps over my whole body and I know 100% sure that Freddie is looking down with a HUGE smile. If you did not yet visit the musical make sure you do, even if you are not a Queen fan you will without a doubt love it.

Changes on the blog
As you might have noticed the blog is getting more active with blog posts and guestblogs.
The idea is that this will grow the coming months, we will start with more guestbloggers (I have some nice surprises for the coming weeks) and the blog will slowly become the only way to see new work. I’ve always been very active on fora and I still love to share my work but it’s getting more and more busy in my work and I always want to answer people when they ask something…. to guarantee this I’ve decided to start focussing more on this blog with new work and only share some work on fora. So if you want to stay updated on everything we do and see the images from the workshops make sure you check the blog at least 3-4x a week.

I will try to update the blog at least 3-4 times a week to keep you guys coming back.

Hey Frank I watched all your videos on Kelbytraining and they are awesome. The photoshop session you seem uncomfortable for what you do vs what Kelbytraining stood for which I can respect. As for anything else you rocked. The only thing you left out was how to measure reflective metering without the 758. lol

The main thing was that the photoshop video was the first thing we shot and yes I was very humbled by everything going on there and photoshop to be honest is not my strongest point, I do use it on a daily basis don’t get me wrong but compared to some people walking around at Kelby’s I feel like a noob 😀

Reflective without the 758 can be done the same way with any meter using reflective like the 558, or even the 358 with the addon spot meter.
