Of course using strobes is the first thing you think about when shooting in the studio.

However using something as simple as lightbulbs can give amazing results. Do remember one simple rule. The inverse square law.

If you move light closer to your model the lightfalloff will be faster creating more stunning results. Move a light like this too far and it will actually be pretty harsh and “ugly”

Don’t let the idea you need expensive gear limit you. It’s all in your creative mind so to say 😉
