Finland Local markets
One of the things most people ask me is “how do you find something interesting to shoot while traveling?”
Well in all honestly I always ask the people who know… sounds quite logical right? and it is.
When we travel I always ask our client if he/she knows anyone that wants to show us around to places that are not “touristy” and in most cases there is always someone who is willing to do this, this is actually the best way to do it, posting on social media also helps of course.
But what if you don’t have any contacts?
Well with internet that’s almost impossible of course but let’s say indeed you don’t (although I wonder how you read this post if you don’t have internet), the best way to find interesting spots/people to shoot are for me always train stations (or metro) and local markets. These places are filled with people and often they are in a hurry so you can shoot without being noticed, on the markets it’s always wise to ask people if you can shoot of course, especially if they are holding big knives 😀
Vilhelm Sjöström took us to the local market in Helsinki to shoot some images, and today you can find these images in the blog.
