Quite Frankly : Photography tips

You might have noticed it already via our social media channels but we released a brand new videowebpodcast called “Quite Frankly”.

During workshops I share a lot of information including some smaller tips and tricks that can really spice up your shoot, business or photo. Thanks to our buddy Glyn Dewis we got the idea it would make a really cool videowebpodcast including those tips. The idea of the videowebpodcast is that we release at least one tip each week, the tips will range from street/travel, model, sports etc. photography to Photoshop/Lightroom/Plugins but also tips on business/social media etc. can be expected, whatever I think could help a viewer out we will film into a tips episode.

This also means the tips can be filmed anywhere, so expect some cool tips from the streets of New York, or from a rooftop during a photoshoot….

So surf to www.youtube.com/frankdoorhof and subscribe to our channel to not miss out any new episodes (and a lot more of course, there is plenty more there 😀

Images from the PI 2014 Pt1

Today some images from the Professional imaging 2014 shot on our booth.
Do remember that shooting on a booth is always a bit limiting, so these are not the portfolio kind of shots, but I actually do always try to shoot them like they were meant to be “real” shots, and sometimes some even make it into my portfolio 😀

Professional imaging 2014

Professional imaging for me is the THE event of the year in the Netherlands, it’s a huge trade show with everything a modern photographer/designer or videographer could wish for. I’ve been demoing at the PI for a long time at the Elinchrom booth so I’ve seen the show progress over the years, and I’ve always had a weak spot for the show so when I was asked last year by the organization to help out with some of the speakers I jumped to the opportunity because I do know some good speakers 🙂

So this year was the first time I was in charge of the main speakers, I asked 2 buddies of mine that I know would blow away the crowd with their talents, Joe McNally and Glyn Dewis both excellent at their part of the spectrum. Adobe arranged Jimmy Nelson (who blew me away with both the images and a good presentation) and Clive Booth, added were of course a lot more speakers and I wish I had some more time to visit them all but that’s impossible.

This year was also the first time we had our own booth at the trade show.
