Blast from the past with Corine

Maybe it’s a fun idea to show some images that are in fact really old (well for me) and give some background information to them?
If you like the concept let me know and I will do more.

During the start up period of my model photography I was working a lot with Corine, when you work a lot with someone it means that sometimes ideas are flowing like crazy and sometimes not…. well this was such a moment. Whatever we did there just was no idea that we would want to work out that we thought would be fun.

I did have this wooden pallet in the studio however and we decided to use that as a backdrop for an image. At first I placed Corine behind it but somehow that did not have the impact we liked. So I decided to make a bit more “room” in the pallet, and large shoe size always comes in handy with this kind of stuff.

The end result you see above was however not how we started, Corine was heavy into fighting sports at the time and she brought her gloves so we thought it would be cool to incorporate those. So here you can see how the shot progressed into the final image on top.

Too posed for my idea, so we decided to loose the gloves

Cooler but I needed a bit more expression, after experimenting for about 5 minutes we eventually ended up with the shot you see on top.

So here you go, the story behind a “blast from the past” shot, by the way the shot you see on top is still one of my favorite images from that period. If you want to see more of these posts with some of my favorite shots and their stories just let me know.

Thanks for sharing Frank. It is definitely a great lesson to show where you’ve come from and how the concept originated. Can’t wait to see more.
