Martial arts

Today a second part of the motion/action workshops I taught last week.
When looking for themes for this workshop I actually met Melvin via one of our models (Marie), and when I heard he was into martial arts I did not have to think twice and invited him over to be one of the models for these special 2 day workshops. He loves doing this kind of stuff and that helps a lot when you have to ask him to do some moves over and over again, but he did great 😀

We added a “little” bit of smoke to spice things up.

Some soccer images

As many of you already know I love to shoot sports, however due to time I hardly have had time for it the last few months, because I took a small rest break after PhotoshopWorld and before Photokina I finally had some time to visit our local soccer team SCE and took some quick shots from the side line. It was not a real interesting game so I ended up with subpar results but I still love to share these.

You’re favorite shot

The story of the image…..
Let’s try something with a thread about your favorite shots and the story behind them, and just keep adding…..
I will kick off.

You know my work consists of a lot of fashion shots, however I LOVE to do other stuff also. This image is one of the shots I took during one of the games I shot from our sons soccer team.

People always look a bit weird when I shoot sports because I sit very close to the ground (to make the players look taller) and they are not used to that with these kind of games, most parents are there with their point and shoots and using flash to reach the other side of the field 😀

In this case I actually thought the ball would go towards one of our players (the one in blue) and I guess he also thought that, but in reality the ball went the other way hitting one of the green players right in the face, I really felt sorry for the little guy, but I love the shot 😀

It was shot with the 5D and shot in RAW, even sports I shoot in RAW when I do it for fun, it just leaves me with a lot more “punch” to work with. You can see I did not expected the ball to go this way because the crop is actually a bit too tight, but I always make my composition a bit too wide with sports and in this case it saved the day….

So share your favorite image and it’s story.

Greetings,
Frank
