WorldWide Photowalk Amsterdam 2016 edition
Once a year Scott Kelby organizes the worldwide photowalk.
An event where “walk leaders” take a group on a photowalk to shoot images, interact and much more. I always love leading these walks and have done walks in Breda, Kampen and Amsterdam in the past. The last few years I was abroad during the dates but this year we actually were in the Netherlands so I immediately opened a walk in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is always fun to walk around, loads of nice characters and beautiful locations like canals, buildings and markets, all within a 2 hour walk.
We always try to be somewhere at least an hour earlier but this time everything that could go wrong… actually went wrong, the road to Amsterdam from Emmeloord on a Saturday is normally not that busy but this time we had a MAJOR delay right at the start of our trip, the bridge was being worked on and we actually started with a delay of over 30 minutes….. well add to that some smaller delays and we were actually happy that we could my interns with the group just in time, and Annewiek and I arrived 5 minutes too late.
From here on everything went great, we had beautiful weather and somehow the group was a magnet for amazing characters, never actually saw so many “weird” and “interesting” characters in a short period of time. My own route went a bit fast but luckily we also had a local photographer in our group who added another loop to the walk that made it even more interesting by including the world famous “waterloopplein markt”
In todays blogpost some of the shots I took during the Photowalk.
