Some samples from Photokina
Teaching at Photokina is always fun, the crowds are large, and keeping them there for almost 45 minutes is always something that is a challenge, but also today it worked 😀 (thanks guys).
In this blogpost 4 of the shots I liked most from today.
Remember these are shot on a booth, so limited time, limited space.
Quick edits on my laptop, working with DxO for the looks.
And a quick panaroma shot of the crowd during one of the shows.
Hi,
On picture #2, she stands against the wall, the light on her is so much stronger than on the wall. How do you get this? Do you darken the background with a software? Thank you for sharing so much online.
Actually very simple, feather the light
#1 looks too plain she is just standing there very straight.
#2 with the brick wall I love the shot and how she is cropped on the side, I have to try doing more like that, with empty space on the other side.
Actually I love the first one. The pose and look gives it something disconnected. And I like that. See for example the work if Erwin Olaf (posing wise on some)
I now see what you mean, looking at Olaf’s work. The post was just my first impression, will have widen my artistic view even more.
Hi Frank it was fun and interesting to follow your presentation at Kina. Your recommandations about DXO was also good. Was quite impressed by the Optic product, less by the film pack one. But I am not an analog guy as you told me you are 🙂
It’s personal indeed. I love both 😉
