Esther our new model
Today I like to introduce you to Esther.
Esther won our competition “Poldermodel 2012” and a few days ago it was her chance to do a workshop with me (and a student of course), I think we made the right decision by letting her win :D, she ROCKS!!!!!
I guess you will be seeing more Esther in the future.
I always love some motion in my shots but not a lot of models can pull it off, as you can see here….. she can.
And because the weather was nice we also did some sets outside, with all the next shots the only light source was natural light, no reflectors, strobes what so ever.
I don’t know if you have the same problem I have….. but sometimes I just LOVE B&W, I even show it to the clients in capture one, but somehow when I do the retouching I always end up with color….. this time I said to myself “whatever you do…. this is gonna be B&W”, and to be honest I love them (hope you guys like them too).
And finally some studio portraits.
Esther and your photographs shown here are just brilliant! Thanks for sharing the wonderful combination!
Thanks John
tell us about the black and white conversion. 🙂
Hi,
I used NIK SilverFX2.
Hi Frank,
Probably Esther never expected that her “model-ambitions” would go like it is going now and she deserves it that all of your followers worldwide can see her now.
About the B&W photos, some images are stronger in B&W and you made the right decision about the 2 you showed!
Gr Stefan
Thanks, I indeed loved the B&W look so I kept them this time.
sorry, I forgot to ask, how does shooting in MF help your black and white images? There is a shading in the second B&W image that suggests a semi circle, maybe it is a flare…?
I shot with the sun right after her so that’s indeed a flare. 😀
Frank you forgot to mention also the really good sport Esther is!
she is without any doubt 😀
I really love the second B&W, where she looks into the camera. I feel it’s a real strong pose. Nicely done also with the dark background with the door on the top left. That background makes the model really pop out. Love it!
