Some images from the workshop with Cherelle

Today some of my favorite shots from the workshop with Cherelle from last week.
I love the work of Jill Greenberg, and always consider these kind of setups a bit of a tribute to her 🙂

In this image I used our studio staircase to get some shadow play on Cherelle and make the shot a bit different than what you normally would shoot.

I always say that I don’t do a lot of Photoshop, and that the image should actually be there the moment that you press the shutter….. but I have to admit, sometimes it’s just way too much fun to play around with Photoshop and create something different. A bit inspired by Andy Warhol 🙂

Love the first image. Do you ever share your setup and settings used on phtoshots? Curious what lighting setup you used and what you metered the subject and background and if the background is blue gelled on a white seamless.

Great work Frank, I’m a huge fan and you insire me to learn and grow.

      Hi,
I sometimes share the setups indeed.
Settings however are of no use, for example on a MF camera you will set it different than on a DSLR or Crop DSLR.

Background is a blue background with a spot and grid.
Background is actually the only thing in THIS case I did not measure, normally I do but with these kind of setups I want a bit of freedom. When I find something I have to repeat I will measure the background of course.

Hi Frank, I love the first image too, would you be able to share the post processing technique, especially on getting the smooth skin.

    Thanks a million.
