Some small news updates and links.
Today we are in Belgium doing a workshop in a beautiful castle ruin so no technical piece or photos, sorry.
I’m typing this from the bed and breakfast we are staying in and it will be online tomorrow morning.
So I decided to make today a small news update.
On Wednesday night I was interviewed for NIK radio over Skype.
In about an hour we talked about technique, metering, my vision on the photography market a bit on help portrait in the Netherlands, and much more. Make sure to check it out on http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nik-radio/id365360524
Rick Sammon shoot and interview on Monday
I met Rick during Photoshop World in Orlando and we immediately hit it off, both Rick and me find the same things important in teaching so that was a good start because my teaching is were my heart lies and talking to a great other teacher (and photographer) is always a blast. We thought it would be cool to do something together and Monday Rick will be visiting us in the Netherlands for a nice studio/location shoot and more, but we keep that as a surprise but it will be fun (also for you guys) 😀
If you don’t already know Rick’s work make sure to check out his amazing website and blog at http://www.ricksammon.info/
The new Frank Doorhof DVD “Freezing motion”
My first DVD on the Kelby label has been released a few weeks ago (as mentioned on the blog) and can be ordered from the Kelbywebshop, however we have now also added the DVD to our own webshop, the first 25 people that order this week will get a signed copy.
New video at kelbytraining.com
The last video from the first series of videos is now online at http://www.kelbytraining.com and you’re gone love this one, it’s my most creative one with loads of tips, information and of course technique, and it’s fun with some unexpected turns and twists on how to use the studio.
Creative Light Uses in Studio Photography
Fashion photographer Frank Doorhof is back in the studio to teach viewers about creative lighting and share some tips for working with models in the studio. In this course Frank offers advice on posing models and their hands, shooting with soft boxes, hard light vs. soft light, and much more. In later lessons, Frank introduces a wind machine to his shoot, along with fire cloth, water spray, and sheets of plastic. Follow along and get some fresh ideas on how to get creative with your studio lighting.
