A duo shoot…. Maybe NSFW for some.

I love to do things I normally don’t do.
Because we’re always busy with workshops and seminars it’s often very difficult to find some time to shoot something for my own portfolio, but sometimes…….

app. 2 years ago I made a deal with Katherina that we would work something out and she would do a shoot with me, yes you read it correctly it took us two years to plan our session, our agendas were not exactly compatible so to speak. But when we found a spot it was quickly decided we would do a “sexy” but “fashionlike” duo shoot with an extra model. After a small post on a modelsite we decided Kim would fit the bill (and she did).

As with most of my portfolio sessions the MUA for the shoot was Linda Rutgers from www.beautyfx.nl I always love to work with Linda so it promised to be a great shoot.

I started out with some solo shots for Kim (which you will see first in this blog post), and at the moment Katherina was done with the makeup we started doing the duo part of the photoshoot. For the first scene we used a white wall and a simple lightsetup with the Deep Octa and the Lighttools grid. This always gives a very nice contrasty image and I love to use that combo.

After warming up we moved to the floor were we decided to play a bit with connections and feelings (light setup a striplight with lighttools grid).
The fun thing is that nothing was planned and when the image appeared on the monitor you can see at the top of this blog post I only thought “wow” this image is without a doubt one of my favorite duo shots I did this year. I always find that posing two models is more difficult than 1 or 3 (or more), but thanks to the “click” between our models it was a very nice and easy shoot.

Remember however that although the topic might be a bit “dangerous” in some countries, it was never meant as an erotic shoot. The images we tried to make are more about the tenderness, feeling and connection than about erotic. I know that for some people and countries the border between what can be seen on work and not is a bit different then for us Dutch people, so beware…. 🙂

So without talking too much, here is my selection of images.

Feel free to comment and share.

Frank
