Sometimes you have a loop, idea, sound that just inspires.
When I got the main loop the rest just fell into place.
It was one of those tracks that went pretty fast. In essence it’s three times the same motive, but every time with a different feel and rhythm.
The technical bits
I’m using Logic as my DAW.
All channels are routed through the Behringer X32 console with a Lexicon Alex for some extra reverb.
As insert on the Drums I’m using the Behringer MDX1000 and Sonic Maximizer for some extra power and push.
This is a setup I use for most of my tracks. The MDX1000 is an awesome sounding compressor with a nice (official) DBX heritage. In combination with a very slight sonic maximizer the drums can really be pushed forwards, or backwards just what the track needs. (well at least what I feel is correct).
Although I can play bass I prefer to program the bass via the session players in Logic. It can be a lot of work and sometimes a bit frustrating but the end results from the session players can be really spectacular.
Guitars etc.
The first part was played with a vintage RG 550R
One of my favorite guitars for a more raw sound, it plays very smooth but has a very aggressive brutal rhythm sound
It was played through the a Randall/Synergy XTC module.

Second Part is a vintage japanse Charvel DK115A through the Synergy Vai module
Poweramp the ENGL 920/100 into the Marshall SE100 and using the Marshall BlackBack cab with a Slate Digital SL-2 mic Effects : TC electronic G-Major, X32.
