Video Portrait Frank Doorhof

During “The Photography Show” in Birmingham this video was released with a video portrait from me.
The video was shot for the series on Smugmug Pros.

Today I’m very proud to show it on my blog.

UK tour in July

You probably already saw it on top of the website but in July we are back in the UK for 3 workshops dates (9-14 July).
On https://frankdoorhof.com/web/tours/uk-workshop-tour-with-nadine-stephan-july-10-14/ you can find all the information. The reason I give some extra attention today to this tour is because we added the St. Albans location for all the people that wanted a workshop near London.

This time I will be accompanied by Nadine, our crazy creative stylist and amazing model, so I promise you that you will end up with some amazing shots for your portfolio 😀

Now this area always fills up very fast so don’t wait too long.
We will add another workshop location very soon, so keep checking the page and if you know a great location somewhere between velocity and st. albans let us know.

Last week I was a guest speaker at the CameraTools week of light/studio.
During the day I taught 2 2 hour workshops in their shop, the fun part was that the idea was to keep it to 90 minutes and let the group shoot for 30 minutes, but when I asked what the group wanted… to shoot or me to continue teaching they all said “continue teaching”… well I guess they did not like the backgrounds 😀

The model for that day was our own topstylist (and model) Nadine, it’s always a blast work with someone that creative.
Today some of the images we shot during that day, and the theme was…. well colorful and blast from the past.

The backgrounds you see is a mix of the amazing Lastolite series (really love those) and the real deal.

Platja d’aro workshops part I

This weekend we were in Spain for 2 workshops in the town of Platja d’aro.
Platja d’aro is a beautiful town with awesome beaches and when you rent a car you can drive around and see some stunning scenery, but our time was very limited, it was almost literally fly in, teach 2 days and fly out, luckily one of the students drove us around for a few hours after the first workshop and I have to be honest…. without any doubt I’ll be back and take a bit more time to look around. In short… if you are planning to visit Spain and are looking for a place that has all the feel of a vacation town but still has the rest and is not primarily aimed at youth but also to families I think Platja d’aro is a great choice.

Anyway.
The first day was reserved for a Fashion shoot A-Z like seminar/workshop.
For an enthusiastic group of app 50 attendees I showed several light setups and gave some retouching tips.
All my information was translated into Spanish so also the non-english speaking attendees got the information.

The dresses were sponsored by the awesome (from Dutch origins) Sinister clothing company.
