Tip about shooting high-contrast on the street

Tip:
Often photographers will try to find the light behind the photographer to get some light on the subjects. However one of the most interesting things that I love to do is finding that high contrast situation where you are actually shooting straight into the sun.

You can of course use objects to block the sun, or let it just “creep through”. So the next time you’re shooting on the street, don’t be afraid to shoot straight into the sun, or include it in the frame, I think you will be surprised 😀

I always love to include people to get some cool silhouette effects.

Abandoned amusement park in Denmark

I love to visit abandoned places however in the Netherlands we don’t have a lot of interesting places, but when I travel I’m always on the outlook for these places.
During our trip in Denmark I found a location online that looked incredibly interesting, it was about a 90 minutes detour so we decided to add it to our route.

Today some images from the abandoned water fun park.
One nice anecdote from the shoot:
We actually parked in front of the entrance sign and climbed over a small barricade to walk up to the entrance, after passing this we were in the park and visited some locations to shoot, while looking for more we saw some cool waterslides and decided to go there for some more larger pieces in the shot, arriving on the location there was a full blown photo club meeting in process with a fun theme, shooting plus size models (nude), we just entered the site anyway and started shooting (not the models out of respect of course), but I have to be honest…. it was a bit of a weird experience.

Without wasting more of your time, here are the shots I took.

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse in Jutland Denmark Part II

Yesterday I shared the day shots of the lighthouse, in this second part you can see the evening shots I took.
I have to be honest that I wished we could have stayed a few more days because I don’t really thing this sunset is the best that you could get over there.

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse in Jutland Denmark Part I

During our trip through Denmark one of the sites I really wanted to see was the lighthouse in Rudjerg Knude.
This lighthouse was a real lighthouse, even with restaurant and house but over time it’s literally overrun by the sand and it won’t be long before it will probably completely dissapear.

We actually went to the lighthouse twice, today I’m gonna share the images we shot during the day time.
