Photoshop world an overview and the results

I always tell people that if they want the best learning experience they should visit Photoshop World, and I really mean this, PhotoshopWorld is unique, it’s a 4 day event JAMPACKED with some of the best teachers in the world teaching on different tracks varying from Photoshop, Lightroom, 3D to lighting, business, painting and what not more.

There is also a small dealer pavilion where you can meet the vendors and ask questions about their products, or try some stuff out in the shooting area.

If you don’t come home 100% inspired and bursting with ideas there must be something wrong, the line up is something everyone should dream off, normally you might see 2-3 of these instructors on a tradeshow, but the way they teach at PSW is totally different and you get them all.

I joined KelbyOne (at that moment still KelbyTraining) a few years ago (as the first European instructor) and have been teaching at all Photoshop Worlds since then, the audience, the atmosphere between the instructors etc. etc. is all 100% top notch so I always look forward to Photoshop World, it’s not only the teaching part but also meeting up with friends.

This Photoshop World was very special for us because it was the first time we actually brought our own model/stylist. Not that the models in the states are not good (far from) but we wanted to put something together that was “different” and this really worked, the styling of Nadine was absolutely unique and during the Pre-Con workshop the attendees were also able to shoot her beautiful creations.

Today in the blog some of the results from PhotoshopWorld.
From my side I wish to thank Scott and Kalebra Kelby and their team for including me in this impressive line up and making me feel right at home, but most of all I would like to thank all the attendees…. you guys absolutely ROCK, it’s always an “emotional” moment to see so many of you turning up at the larger rooms and live shoots, but also during an incredibly difficult time slot for my presentation at Peach Pitt, it was jampacked and that for the first seminar of the day… wow…. from the bottom of my heart thanks.

Ok…. enough talk, here are the images.

Kevin at PSW Plus tip on sunglasses

During PhotoShopWorld my schedule is always busy but one of the things I always make time for is demoing for Expoimaging, as you all know I absolutely love their flashbenders so demoing them is always a blast.

During the demos we always work with a cool model but sometimes you can find even cooler models straight in front of you, and although Kevin (yeah he actually works for Expoimaging) at first didn’t want to be a model, the next day he already said “He I brought sunglasses”….. the addiction of being in front of the camera I always say 😀

So today some images I shot of Kevin at the Expoimaging booth with the Sony A7RII, Rogue Flashbenders, Phottix Mitros+ strobes and Phottix Odin trigger system.

Oh and one quick tip.
Often you can really spice a shot up with adding glasses or sunglasses, but if you have the chance make sure you take a colored one, the reflections can give some really cool effects, and often the more extreme sunglasses are actually pretty cheap 😀Rogue demos PSW 62 - August 12 2015

Some images from PSW

Without any doubt PhotoshopWorld is for me one of the highlights of the year.
PhotoshopWorld is switching between the east and west coast and is held twice a year.
To say that PhotoshopWorld is just a tradeshow is a big understatement, yes there is an expo floor with a lot of booths, but most of all PhotoshopWorld is about teaching, imaging being taught by the best instructors in the world in Photoshop, Photography, Lightroom etc. you will be blown away by the choices you have. During the day there are seminars from early morning to late in the evening, and then there are the parties, midnight madness, portfolio reviews, panels and so much more…. it’s mind boggling. The main attraction of PhotoshopWorld is that the teachers are not the “demo-ers” you normally see at trade shows, imaging seeing Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski, Dave Black etc. at work on the Expo floor in the booths explaining their tricks, you feel what I mean ? 😀

I always tell people that my favorite times of the year are my birthday, christmas and PhotoshopWorld.
For me (and all other instructors) it’s a huge honor to be able to call myself one of the instructors at PhotoshopWorld, this time was my fourth PhotoshopWorld in a row and the second where I taught a so called Pre-con workshop.
