If there is one thing that Frank loves even more than photography itself, it’s teaching about photography.
These are no ordinary workshops were a standard light setup is explained and the students can start shooting themselves in a paparazzi style. In Frank’s workshops there is a lot of attention for really understanding what’s going on, or in other words learn :
“how to meter, manipulate and let the light do what you want”
“why fake it, when you can create it”
This approach has send Frank Doorhof all over the world to teach workshops and secured his place at KelbyOne as the first European Kelby instructor. He also writes several masterclasses for photography magazines. Frank is also very active online and answers all the questions on his forum, mail and blog himself.

In 2012 Frank started the program “A year with Frank Doorhof” in which he will take a full year to help photographers with their work, the program includes many different areas of the photography field including special seminars about social media, brand building, an intern program and much more. All workshops in the Netherlands are taught in Dutch, except the 1:1’s which can be taught in both Dutch or English.

I will be back in 2011 but were is still under investigation, maybe we will go longer and combine several location, like a little tour.
But again we are looking into it.
I also want to see how the Kelbytraining videos will affect this, don’t know what to expect from that.

Vandaag heb ik de workshop studiofotografie 1 gevolgd. Geweldige workshop, met goede en duidelijke theorie, die op een ontspannen manier gegeven wordt met veel humor. Na de lunch werd de besproken theorie in de praktijk gebracht. Frank had hiervoor een fantastisch model geregeld. Ik kijk uit naar de workshop studiofotografie 2, die ik morgen ga volgen.
Zowel workshop I als II gevolgd vorige week en enorm veel geleerd (en gelachen). Helaas pasten de skyport niet op mijn Sony, maar derhalve heb ik één van jouw camera’s morgen lenen gedurende beide workshops. Bedankt voor je ‘barmhartigheid’ ;). De converter verwacht ik vrijdag wel bij me te hebben bij je workshop Glamour…
Korte vraag: waar kan ik de foto’s posten, ‘ter goedkeuring door FD en model’ ?

Ik ben al jaren lang fan van Frank zijn fotografie
kunsten , een workshop stond dus al heel lang op mijn verlanglijst!! Door mijn
ziek is er helaas nooit iets van gekomen, maar na een lange modellen fotografie
stop lijkt een workshop bij Frank een goed begin van een nieuwe start. Ik hoopte
tijdens de workshop veel nieuwe inspiratie op te doen en voor mij nieuwe en
verbeterde belichting’s technieken beter onder
de knie te krijgen en te kunnen beheersen. Voor wat betreft mijn
verwachting en doel van deze workshop ben ik ruim schoots aan mijn trekken
gekomen en voldeed deze compleet aan mijn verwachting.
Ik heb dankbaar alle handvaten, die Frank gaf tijdens de
workshop, in me opgenomen en ik sta te trappelen om ze in praktijk uit te
voeren. Ik beschik volgens mij over een gezonde dosis humor, dus kon ik de humor
van Frank zeker wel waarderen tijdens de workshop die ik heel ontspannen heb beleeft.
Van zulke fijne workshop dagen mogen er voor mij nog
vele volgen, Frank bedankt en tot de volgende keer…

this weekend we will burn the first test version for viewing outside our team, and then it will be released, probably before Xmas.
Je hebt workshops en je hebt workshops van Frank Doorhof. Zijn workshops steken met kop en schouders uit boven anderen die ik heb bijgewoond (zowel nationale als internationale sprekers). Heb je een passie voor dit vak en wil je echt wat opsteken dan moet je hier zijn.
In mijn ogen siert het de vakman dat hij inzicht wil geven en zijn kennis wil delen.
Als de dag dan ook op smaak gebracht wordt met een vleugje humor en een kopje koffie, kan hij voor mij niet meer stuk. Dankjewel Frank!
