Frank Doorhofs Digital Classroom is sponsored by BenQ & Rogue.
This is a live, interactive, free, online broadcast from our studio in Emmeloord. And this time the topic of the live shoot is:
Photoshop opens doors to so many different creative opportunities. If you can imagine it, you can create it. Combine your skills with a make-up artist and a costume designer and you can make a stunning fantasy image yourself.
But as you know Franks motto is “why fake it when you can create it”. So, we found a model who does all make-up and costumes herself, Eandora is a beautiful and flexible girl. Frank will make amazing images in his studio and shows you how you can do that too.
You will see Frank setting up and metering the lights before coaching the model and taking the shot. He will explain why he chooses this angle and what his favorite modifiers for this kind of shoots are. In the second setup we will use smoke to get a little more atmosphere and probably color gels. It’s all about storytelling and it’s not hard or difficult. Frank will also show you some tips and tricks in Photoshop how to give your image that extra pop. See what presets and plug ins can come in very handy to get more special effects if really needed.
Because we have several cameras in the studio you can see the whole setup. We zoom in when Frank takes the shot and show you via “picture in picture” the results. We also improved our desktop resolution so you can now see better which settings he uses when retouching.
And the best thing is you can talk to Frank & the crew LIVE in the chat on YouTube or Facebook.
So, if you want to know more about storytelling and being creative, don’t miss this episode
During digital classroom it’s also possible to send in your portrait pictures and Frank will critique them. Mail them to email@example.com
