In this episode, Frank & Annewiek share the stories behind some of Franks most iconic pictures but also some street and travel pictures you probably don’t know but which are very interesting because they tell a story and makes you wonder: what’s happening here?
Frank often doesn’t always have an extensive plan or storyboard. He builds the picture as he shoots. Knowing how light behaves and what smoke and gels can do, the pictures fall together like a puzzle. He also sheds light on the perspective of the model, be careful with her, she’s also human. How to make her comfortable? And how to work together to tell a story, or to get the viewers’ attention.
Street and travel photography are another passion of Frank. He always brings a camera when we are on location abroad. Frank and Annewiek drive or walk around when they have a moment of free time. Sometimes they look for places to photograph as a composite backdrop and find something totally different.
