Digital classroom with Nadine the results

Digital classroom is always special.
Today the results from the September 11th 2019 digital classroom.
Digital classroom is made possible by Rogue/Expoimaging and BenQ.

This digital classroom was the first time I used my new Nissin strobes, and I can’t tell you how much I love these strobes, the remote controls are awesome with a very slick display (in full color) and they are very stable in output. Check them out if you’re in the market for some speedlights, you will love them (Frank guarantee).

As modifiers I used the Rogue Frank Doorhof flashbender.
The Frank Doorhof version is a modified Flashbender XL with a softsilver coating instead of silver or white, it’s silky smooth for skins but gives a punch like silver plus it gives you more light output compared to white. Ok let’s take a look at the first set.

And here the setup
The cool thing about the flashbenders is that you literally create the lightfall off on the background any way you want, by just bending them.

For set number 2 I used my favorite Lastolite background, the olive and tabacco.
Plus I switched lenses.
For this series I used the Lensbaby Velvet 85.
This is a very very special lens, shooting at F4 it almost behaves like a normal lens (from F5.6 and up it does) but below F4.0 you get this awesome glow effect, it’s hard to describe but you’ll see, at first it seems an image is out of focus if you shoot on F2.8 and F2.0 but when you zoom in you can see it’s actually razor sharp under the glow. By balancing the effect you can create some stunning art.

And the best thing (for me) about these lenses…. LENSFLARE.
What can I say I just love the way they render it.
The red flare is from the Lensbaby itself, the blue I added in Alien Skin Exposure 4 (very slightly, the rest is really the lens itself)
