Wait before you throw something out

Don’t just throw stuff out. It can be awesome material to make clothing or accessories

Over the years I’ve shot some bizarre clothes and accessories all made out of material that you would never expect in a photoshoot. Ofcourse it helps to have a crazy creative stylist and model like Nadine 🙂 the images in this blogpost are a mix of styling by myself and Nadine.

For example think about some packing paper and old curtains

Or for example some Christmas paper

But also postal bags work

But one of my favorite must be this heavily inspired by the 50s pulp SF movies shot which is almost completely build up from paper bags

Staying in SF what about a robot all made out of cardboard

But it can also work with a newspaper of course.

Or what about handkerchiefs

And when we are on that route… Some toilet paper ?

And sometimes a lot of fun after the shoot with bubble wrap

And staying in plastic, what about some thrashbags? Not possible? Oh yeah it is

And finally (although I have loads more) what about using some plastic material and don’t use it as clothing but as background

What did you use as a creative solution?

Unfair competition or…

I just read this article

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-huawei-tech-alphabet-exclusive/exclusive-google-suspends-some-business-with-huawei-after-trump-blacklist-source-idUSKCN1SP0NB

And I can’t help to see this as taking out competition. It’s no secret that if huawei would be selling in the us they would be the largest smartphone manufacturer.

And in all honesty I never had a phone I liked more that the p20pro and now p30pro. It’s just an amazing device with an awesome camera setup.

So what does this mean?

Well it’s of course very uncertain. Is this just some temporary situation where after discussions a solution is found, or does this mean the end of an amazing product?

It’s know Huawei has they own OS based on Android which is supposed to run much faster and will run “all apps” but in al honesty for me that would probably be question of how many apps will be available. If it’s really all apps I couldn’t care less but if it’s only a selection it would be a major blow I’m afraid

And why?

If you don’t want a brand in your country just put import limits on it like it is now. Putting a “national security” order to google to stop support immediately is in my opinion so over the top that I really can’t draw another conclusion that it’s all about taking out a competitive brand. And that’s a really bad thing to use the option “national security ban”

What do you think?

Is this taking out the competition or is it just to use a ban like this?

Going from A Z BTCD May 18 2019

In today’s vlog it’s about the workshop A-Z.
Going from literally the start of the photoshoot to the retouching/business part, it’s all in this workshop and you get to see the whole day including a small explanation per set with some tips and of course the results.

In this workshop I shot with speedlights, hensel strobes, the LumeCube, the Ice Light and even the flashlight from my phone, it was fun 🙂
