Results from the workshop Classical lighting with Danique

Today some of the results from the workshop “Classical lighting” with our model Danique.
In this workshop the key ingredient is to take inspiration from the 20-80’s and combine this with a modern twist.

Or in other words, using flags to create nice focussed light, filmlike tonings and of course some really nice lightplay on the model with hard shadows.
It’s a crazy fun workshop with a lot of technique.

The Essential Lighting Techniques chapter 8: Grids

Why do I need grids? Frank Doorhof will show you this and more in his latest instruction video “The Essential Lighting Techniques, a guide to lighting”. Get more attention to your model with a grid on your reflector, striplight or any other modifier. Frank explains the different thicknesses, how a grid can focus the light and how you know that your model is in the hotspot.

Just a simple 1-light-setup is so much more exciting with a grid.
