Nadine during creative light workshop

One of the new workshops I’ve added to the line up is the “Mastering the modelshoot : Creative light use and projection”.

In this workshop we work with alternative light sources and a projector to project not only images but literally paint in the scene the way we like it (we are working on an instructional video for this for the near future).

Today some of the images from that workshop with our model/stylist Nadine.
We started pretty simple with just some projection as structure.

Later me moved into a real image as projection, and of course making it BW for a more “impact” look.Nadine 41 - August 28, 2015

Adding some expression and as you can see in this example BW sometimes really just adds a LOT.Nadine 44 - August 28, 2015

After this “playtime” it was time for the serious part of the workshop.
We light painted the scene and added some smoke and colors to really show what can be done with alternative light.Nadine 109 - August 28, 2015

Darya

Today some quick testshots we did with Darya.
Once every while I do small test sessions with potential new models for the workshops or other assignments. Today some images from the session with Darya.

During these sessions I always run through some very simple setups and mostly just look how the model works the camera, and I think Darya did pretty nicely 😀 We will probably see her again someday.

Kevin at PSW Plus tip on sunglasses

During PhotoShopWorld my schedule is always busy but one of the things I always make time for is demoing for Expoimaging, as you all know I absolutely love their flashbenders so demoing them is always a blast.

During the demos we always work with a cool model but sometimes you can find even cooler models straight in front of you, and although Kevin (yeah he actually works for Expoimaging) at first didn’t want to be a model, the next day he already said “He I brought sunglasses”….. the addiction of being in front of the camera I always say 😀

So today some images I shot of Kevin at the Expoimaging booth with the Sony A7RII, Rogue Flashbenders, Phottix Mitros+ strobes and Phottix Odin trigger system.

Oh and one quick tip.
Often you can really spice a shot up with adding glasses or sunglasses, but if you have the chance make sure you take a colored one, the reflections can give some really cool effects, and often the more extreme sunglasses are actually pretty cheap 😀Rogue demos PSW 62 - August 12 2015

Valley of fire

For years I’ve been hearing about the Valley of fire and how beautiful it is, however somehow we never found the time to visit it, so this year when we planned our trip to Vegas for PSW we said to each other “Valley of fire has to be on there” and I’m honest…. it was awesome and without a doubt also on the program for next year.

The fun thing….. you know the saying that you will always will find some Dutch people somewhere?
Well in the middle of nowhere we suddenly heard “Hey Frank” and indeed…. Dutch people in the middle of the desert, and also visitors of PSW, as you can see it’s a small world even in a big area, the Dutch are everywhere.

Anyway, enough about the Dutch, here are some of the images I shot that day.

Oh and indeed I LOVE roads like this 😀
