Unique movie poster created for Frank Doorhof

Be your own Film Star
I have always been inspired by films and videos. And love trying to work out how a scene was lit, or a special effect achieved.  This has had a big influence on my photography, so I guess it was only a matter of time before I started creating movie posters of my own. We have all dreamt at one time or other of being in an actor or movie star. Sure this might remain a dream for a lot of us; but there is no reason why we can’t be up there larger than life in our very own movie poster!

Frank very kindly allowed me to take his profile shot and transport him into his very own movie setting [which might be the only way I’ll get him into an Australian landscape for now!]

Creating movie poster and film stills gives me a chance to ask: Who do you want to be? Where do you want to be? How do you want to be? Sometimes I get detailed answers; sometimes I am given just a general theme. Either way, I know I’m in for a lot of fun.

The majority of my images are shot in a small studio on a black polyboard. Backgrounds are shot separately or created digitally. The two are then combined and titles/credits added. I had to admit sometimes the titles are the hardest part. For me they either come immediately or take for ever. But that’s just all part of the process – I know it will all come together in the end.

Because you know what they say – the show must go on! 😉

Kind regards
