Workshop Boston results 2

As promised the final selection of images from the Boston workshops.
Let’s start off with some natural light images shot around the train location.
I used the 105-210 Mamiya lens wide open to create a nice shallow DOF.

However we shot also inside the train this day, yesterday I showed you the more “flat” look. After a while I changed the mood however to a more “moody” look which I personally prefer a lot, however as always this is a personal choice.

And some more of the outside shots.

The following shots were taken in the Bond room were I played with the topic composition and mixing light sources.

As mentioned many times before I strongly believe that in almost every location you can shoot an interesting image, as long as you play with your composition or light you can make everything look interesting (well ok almost everything). The next image was shot as the first “location” shot from the workshops and is actually just the hallway outside the studio which according to many is very standard and not interesting… I saw this shot however.

And a more simple one.

I also shot some images with small flash during the start of the workshop, I used the Rogue flash bender as a modifier (I really LOVE this flash accessory) and tried some different looks from the same modifier to show just how flexible it is.

For me, one of the most stunning locations was the rooftop. In yesterdays post you could already see some images, but here are some more.

And some from the evening session on the roof

Some images from the street setup.

And to finish this blog post (and the posts about the workshops in Boston), some images from the harbor.

PS. sorry for the overload of images 🙂

and i also very much like teh flash with lightbender shots especially the colour ones there. I am hoping to find a similar colour wall for a tattoo shoot on sunday for 1 of the models.

Stunning shots here Frank. I love the ones of the girl walking up the cobbled street. What was the “recipe” for this shot.
    Thanks

Rooftops again…  love the wide angle boots-shot with the buildings with all the lights on the background. As well as the cobble stones shots. Those can not be hard to do over here in Belgium, apart from the locationtelling flag… 😉
Toning in the dress and hat shots is nice too.
