Some new images from last weekend

As mentioned before we are incredibly busy with the new DVD, so today a collection post of some of my favorite shots from the workshops last weekend.
Corine
These two images were shot during the Workshop Studio Technique 2, in which there is a lot of attention for how to manipulate lights. In this case it’s all about using the sides of the lights with a light source aimed straight at the model. In the following image it’s all about using the sides of the light but also changing your own position. Both are often real eye openers for the students, especially when they see that’s it’s not as easy you might think (a light meter comes in very handy).

Floor
Floor is without a doubt one of my favorite models for the glamour workshops. Because she was not available for model work for a while I was very happy when she called me and said she was starting it up again. Next Friday she will be in the glamour workshop again so that will be fun, but to “warm up” we first did a Studio Technique I workshop. This is the “step in” workshop I teach, however don’t think it’s a basic workshop, in essence it’s the workshop where the students learn to master the light meter and learn how to “read” the light. Here some of the images I loved from this workshop.

Most of the times the first setup we use is a white background, showing that with a reflective meter you can set this up in seconds without blowing out details.

After this setup I used a very popular setup during the workshops, with this setup I only use the Elinchrom Deep octa to create the “illusion” of two light sources, one on the model and one on the background. In reality it’s however only the Deep Octa that is used.

Ending the workshop we setup a single strobe with grid and explained the importance of choosing the correct composition, lens and angle.

Marie
Marie was our model for the 1:1 workshop last Thursday.
During the 1:1’s there really is no structure that is repeated with the different workshops, or in other words they are 100% unique and custom made for the student. The following images were shot during several stages of the explanationes.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
